Melinda has long envisioned creating a beautiful space where families—like her own—could come together to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. She established The Garden Gate Event Center in April 2026 alongside her daughters, Katie, Ashlee, and Shawnee. Together, they bring years of experience in the wedding and event industry, along with heartfelt passion for hospitality.

Venue History
Since taking ownership, it became clear that everyone in Northern Utah has a connection to this special place. Built originally as the 2nd Ward House for Bountiful in 1912, the building has been meticulously maintained and restored through its many years as an event center. You may even have visited under one of its former names; Canterbury, La Capella, or Casa Blanca.Â
